King’s Town Bank cooperates with the Tainan Municipal Bureau of Agriculture to support pineapple farmers
In response to China’s announcement of the suspension of imports of Taiwanese pineapples, King’s Town Bank Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “King's Town Bank" or "the Bank," stock code: 2809) immediately used its local strength and cooperated with the Tainan Municipal Government's Agriculture Bureau to purchase pineapples. Besides the procurement actions to alleviate the current slow-sales problem of pineapples, King's Town Bank has also planned to purchase gradually according to the different production periods in different regions, as well as combine surrounding resources to create other added-value products, to support local farmers with action, and to give farmers confidence. To prevent farmers from spending more than a year's effort, the pineapples purchased will be used as gifts to customers or disadvantaged charity groups.
Taiwan's agricultural products have always been well-known in the world for their excellent quality, and Taiwan's agricultural technology exports have also helped many countries. More than 70% of King's Town Bank's branches are located in southern Taiwan and have been cultivating in Southern Taiwan for many years, and some of the units locate in rural areas in central and southern Taiwan. Many farmers themselves are King's Town Bank's loyal customers. King's Town Bank purchases local and seasonal agricultural products every year and presents them to customers and public welfare organizations. While expanding farmers' sales channels and improving farmers' livelihoods also allows the recipients to have more knowledge of Taiwan's agricultural products. In Taiwan's pineapple imports being stopped by China, King’s Town Bank was the first to carry out the rescue operation through the usual channels of communication and do its part for this land.
